Just another

It's just another Monday, Princess is off school today....she didn't really feel great! Don't think she will sit here at home doing nothing, just watching tv..oh no!!

She isn't THAT ill, so she is working with her Norwegian homework, and it's really needed as we have fallen behind big style.

Then again ,we are working double..that means both 1 and 2 grade at the same time..just to be able to do 3rd grade on it's own after the summer holiday. So wee need to put in 3 hours every week I think- to catch up.

Yesterday we had lunch at mother in law's , it was a really nice dinner with lovely wine and too good a cake after. Result is of course..half a kilo on since yesterday morning. Oh well...not to worry to much. We don't see her that often anyway, I think I can live with it!!

Time

It's not the time that really is the issue...not really, the time is being spent getting rid of stuff that clutter up my life, when they are gone, the time will be spent on doing the stuff I love... so I need to do some decluttering!!

New conclusion..I spend way too mch time on the laptop, so I need to limit myself a bit. A couple of blog updates during the day maybe, and then not until evening time. I will also check my email during the day, but that's it!

Good evening folks, I have thought for a while that it's about time I get some pics on here...but my camera is playing hide and seek with me, but hopefllt I will find it tomorrow so I can liven thing up a bit showing you my latest knitting projects.

Well, some other projects too, but we'll get to that in a while.
It's a short note from me tonight, it's 23,00 and just about time for bed. Have lots of stuff to do tomorrow, including Avon stuff! I love Avon, I really do!!!

Change

It was a change in our plans yesterday, I forgot that I had said I would make Avon deliveries at 8pm, and after that Kamma needed to go straight to bed, so no P90 for us after all.

This morning on the other hand, we went swimming at tenam , for a full hour. The last 15 minutes I couldn't swim anymore due to the muscle under my ribcage, it was really sore and really bothering me. Started coughing while in the water too. Nevertheless, it was good and I really enjoyed it. Want to start swimming weekly again!!

I have also fasten loose ends and my Matilda shawl, and I will pin it out to block it tonight...if I have time..guesss I have those shirts to iron..! Hmm.should get them washed first I guess. Away I go,

Enough

Enough lazying around, myy granny would never have accepted this. I still have tons to do, and can't just sit and knit all day long. Although I have started knitting a new hat;)

We'll go shopping in just 30 minutes, Princess has "ordered" cooked chicken and tigerbread every weekend so we'll go to Costco to get it, decent price and decent size.

Tonight we are also starting our exercise again, we haven't done anything since October so it's about time now. I have lot several kilos since then so it should be a bit easier to start up...I do remeber it was really hard work though. Good hard work mind you.

I guess this is all for today, have stuff to do, places to ge..;) Hugs.!

Week 3

Week three started today and so far I have only completed one letter this year, and I am not inpressed by myself. The goal is to write 150 letters this year and this is not going as I planned. So, the goal for the day is to finish a letter to Petra, and start on the next one that needs to be finished by Saturday, you all know that is my mailing day.

Just to remind myself...I LOVE writing letters and I love all my penpals!! Get a move on now, they can't wait for your letter forever!!!

Focus

I must have a bit more focus on my eating this next week! I haven't behaved as well as I should. And I am also VERY keen on starting my exercise, but I need to wait just a little while longer, because I might damage my muscle.

anyway. lunch is nearly ready and I am starving. Late on today we are getting our Tesco shopping delivered and we will be stocked up with food for the next week and a bit!

Yes yes, it's Saturday and we have been busy as usual. We were at this years first danceclass and I think Princess really enjoyed. And now i know, her danceexam is on February 26 so I guess we better start practising at home every day so she passes it with flying colours.

While we were there the mailman came round with my new pencil...

Also....husband suddenly started talking to me about a new phone for me...Vigin Media phoned about a good deal as we have been customers for such a long time...So....he is getting me a new phone!!

Apparently it's a HTC Wildfire, which is better than the one I have now..a Sony Ericsson I think.

So it has been a weird day for me, now stuff and new phone. This is not normal happenings for me.

But I'll take what I get!!

Day 10.

Or is it 11? I am in doubt now...! Still, I have been pretty good to be honest, and this seems to go well. My weigh in was yesterday and i had lost 1.5 lbs, and that is 0.6 kilos and i think that is ok.

I really want to start exercising, but I can just yet. I know I told you about my chest infection, what I didn't know then was that the pain under my ribcage would continue and get worse. I can not stratch, bend, jump run or cough without it hurting,...ALOT, and it seems I have pulled (or something like that) a muscle in my diaphragm and it will take some time to heal...i haven't been to the doctor with this pain, although I did mention it to him last Thursday. I am not sure wheather I should bother him with this or not. one way or the other....I can't do alot of exercise and my weightloss will be slow until I can start moving again.

But hey ho, i can stay away from sweets and stuff like that eh?

Is it Tuesday already? How did that happen...?
I didn't go online all yesterday, I collected my Avon books, and I am telling you....the antibiotics are working...I don't cough as much, and I CAN hear again..BUT there is another problem....my ribcage, lung or whatever it is...it's so sore when I try to brathe in, and move about..can't even bend down to pick something up...If nothing happens that changes this...I thinkI should visit the doctor again..this is just so weird..!

It's kinds funny, I mean to feel like this, cause it rarely happens to me..I am never ill for more than two weeks...and now..I am approachind the end of the fourth week of not feeling well.

Anyway, that's me...I have been knitting abit though,..but only written half a letter! Must get back into it, although it's difficult to focus with this pain in the ribs..!

So..what is next? I have about one hour to do some knitting and then I will head for my bed...I need to get to bed early, would like to read maybe half an hour before turning the light off. Told you I wanted to read more this year! We are already in the second week of the year and I have only written one letter..think I will bring stuff with me tomorrow so I can start on one..making plans, making plans...!

Also, this is day 7 of my 100 day challenge...I nearly had a bag of crisps earlier today...managed to remember my challenge and stay clear..yay for me!!

Sunday

It's Sunday already, my goal for the day is to finish writing a letter to my dear friend Mari, and to knit a bit more!

i have alreay started 4th repeat of ten, and hopefully today I will finish the 4th and start on the fifth repeat. I am kind of hoping to have it nearly finished by Wednesday because my plan is to get the wool to continue on my cardigan.

My cousin announced he is engaged, so maybe a wedding in a year or so..IF we're invited that is;) I kind of hope so, cause i'd love to show off the new me! I am not new yet hahaha, but by summertime, I will be very different from what I am now!

Anyway, time to do the dishes and get some lunch!

Yup, I went to the doc, told him about my cough and phlegm over the last 4 weeks, and now pain under the ribcage and loss of hearing...generally not too good these days..although ~ Iam not actually feeling ill or anything, just a bit bothered.

So, doctor D. listened to my breathing, looked in my ears, took my temperature and looked down my throat.
The result is: Penicillin for a week, 3 times a day, and an inhaler for the wheezing in my chest. that I am to use 4 times a day untul I have stopped coughing.

These Asthma inhalers, yuck, not good tasting...I will be glad when I can put it away and never use it ever again hopefully! And honestly...i can#t wait to get rid of the catharr in my ears, cause I can't bloody hear!!!!

Aint it fun?

Tomorrow we have another day off, all I am going to do is to go out and deliver my Avon books, I don't have more than 10 books anyway so it will be quick. Hopefully I will get a few orders!

I got weighed this morning, and the result was not too bad really.My goal was to not put on 5 lbs over the holiday and my weigh in shows that I put on 3.5 lbs.So it is really success!!

Also, my ear is still bothering me,so I have a doctors appointment in 35 minutes...hopefull doc will be able to give me something..!

Day 1

Day one is nearly over, and I have done really well..I must admit that those pink smarties that I know is in the pink Smartie tube right in front of me are veeeery tempting...but I will not be led into temptation by anything or anyone..not yet anyway, hahah! Just another few hours and I can colour in my first little heart!

I don 't know how my weight will be, I mean how much I put on over the holidays...but honestly..I don't care that much because I know I am on the right way anyway. I will start the new years tracking on Friday and I will fill in my whole new trackbook..because Weight Wachers has the most gorgeous trackbooks out this year....and I WANT ONE!! Gotta finish the one I bought before Christmas though.

Anyway, tomorrow is day 2 of my challenge.

Today it has been raining and it was really windy but Husband wanted to go for a walk...but my shoes are no longer waterproof, and I only have jeans for walking, so no need to say i was drenched and pretty cold after our walk to the Antonine Wall near Cumbernauld. I would like to do this walk again, preferably in dry conditions next time..!

100 days

I have been inspired..I had to think of it a few days..I tried it last year but lasted only 3 or 4 weeks...so I have a kind of shorter challenge this time...the challenge is : No sweeties for 100 days. I am going to make a nice little (or BIG) calender for myself, so I can actually manage this time.

Maybe 'I am ready for it this time!! Wish me luck everyone!!!!

Day 2

We're well int the new year by now, *I am still coughing like an old smoker* have had coffee but I am ready for another one by now.

Last night I found my knitting, and knitted a few repetitions on the Botanica, gonna finish it this year!!!!
I also found a book and starting reading it " the tibetan art of living" by Christopher Hansard.

I also wrote a few pages on a letter to my penpal Mari, so I am hoping that this year I will be even more organised than last year. I did pretty ok to be honest, but the last 4 months of the year it started falling apart again. I am not sure why, but I am sure I will last longer than August this time.

So my focus is going to be on keeping track and keeping order. Am I a perfectionist??? NOPE, but that is probably where the problem lies..so I will work on doing things better and doing more.

Happy New Year everyone, I hope you have had a great 2011, and that you celebrated the last day of the year with your loved ones.

Now 2012 has started and I will start working towards my new goals. I am still not feeling so great, but it doesn't really stop me..not too much anyway. I am sitting here enjoying my first cup of coffee this year and soon I am going to find my knitting needles for the first time this year, and later I will start writing letters for the first time this year

The first load of washing is already finished, and this is my first post this year too.

The sun is shining, things seems good! Long may it last.

The old year is nearly history, so a tiny little summery is due..!

I guess in some areas I can do better!

2012 will be even better than 2011, I am sure of it..more updates, more everything...all I am waiting for is for 2012 to actually start and that my stuffy ears from the plane yesterday will open up ASAP..because it took me nearly a week to hear properly last week..

And last but not least....At the end of the old year, I will say a big happy birthday to Christoffer I think he turns 4 this evening and I hope I have spelled his name correct..his mum will have to correct me if I am wrong.

Time for a rather late breakfast and some ear opening exercises!!

Seriously!!! Believe it...I was 79.4 this morning...and I am almost near 78......78!!!!! I didn't thinkI would do it before Christmas, last year the Christmas eating started early December..and yes I have eaten the Kransekake that we baked, we had to bake twice cause we ate it alll...hahahhah! Typical!!

But still, I will go to Norway near enough 8 kilos lighter than what i was last time they saw me. I don't know if they will see such a huge difference, as this time I don't feel so different. But honestly...it doesn't matter that much (just a little) because I am still far of my goal. Goal is supposed to be....quite a bit less, let's just leave with that.

Am i obsessed with weight...a little, because if Iam not, I don't manage to lose weight..and being 87 kilos is not what I would like to be again. This time I will get straight back in there when we come home, and today I am going to purchase a new trackbook that will be waiting for me for the new year 2012.

I am very hopeful for 2012, very actually! I have managed to be so focused since August, I am sure I will manage to continue...and also there's some new programme material out and I can try it out. Filling and healthy!! It is really working and I am truly amazed!!!

Well, I better get ready, I will soon be picked up..so I have contace lenses to put in, kids clothes to get ready...brekfast to fix...yes,..see you later!!

I can not believe it's 21st of December today, time has just passed so fast this year, atleast these last few weeks has just flown by.

Today was the last day of school before Christmas, Catriona had been unwell last night but she was fine this morning so she got to school , swapped presents with Emma and got pressies from Miss Douglas too.

It is finally time for bed for Catriona, and I will have an hour or two of peace before the day starts tomorrow again.
Tonight the candles are burning and it's cosy and nice in our livingroom.

Yep,k another rather large tidy up, this time everything that can be washed will be washed, and all magazines up of the floor...not so easy as I have hundreds of knitting mags. Yikes. But, our washing machine are constantly going, and we are taking the washed stuff the the laundrette to get it all dry. I still have alot of things to do, and I really do not have time to "hang" here on the computer.

Just saying hi, I am still here, but veeeery busy.Guess I should take some pics to show at some point. Oh, here came the mail, better run before Solveig the cat runs away with everything.

I did it! I DID IT....yesterday when I got weighed I was 79.8 kilos, I an under 80 and that was the goal , to be under 80 before Christmas.

AND there's still another week to go before it's actually Christmas..I am VERY happy! Must keep going now! Would be cool to be 79.5 before we head of to Norway. I can not believe that 1.August I weighed 87 kilo, and now 7 of those are gone.

The next thing I am going to do is to work out my goal for the summer.

Oh, there it is...now that was quick. The goal for the summer is to weigh 70 kilos. I will do it! By my 34th birthday I will weigh 70 kilos. I am sure it's doable. Wish me luck!!

Knitalongs

Yes, as so many years before..I have joined knitalongs...and maybe this year I will follow though? You never know, I mighe amaze you (and myself). As well as the saving my pennies per ball of wool I knit, I am going to at all times always knit something for myself. Even going to try to finish the Botanica Medallion,

What do you say to that??? I supposed that it's not really going to be much of a challenge as I am quite a selfish knitter anyway. I think I have even finished all the Xmas pressies for this year as well..so there. Organised- me? Nah..

At this time, I think I might have joined another knitalong, but I can't remember...whenever I do remember..I will let you know.

I know for a fact I have knitted alot less this year than last year...over 1000 meters less..that is just no good. Hopefully with these knitalongs, I'll keep myself busy. Unless work interrupts me of course.

Anyway, time to finish up..I have about 15 minutes to fasten some loose ends so I willl love you and leave you.Will be back with pictures of the Chrismasscarf I finished a day or two ago.

Healthy

As I mentioned earlier, I have been busy using a couple of other blogs for different things, and one of those blogs had to do with health, diet and basically losing weight. My ultimate goal is to be at MY Weight Watchers goal by the time I am 35, and the countdown is on the ticker at the top.

These last few days I have been doing something called Filling and Healthy option, and so far it seems as it is working. This morning, the weight showed 80.2, and the goal has been, and still is:
to be under 80 before we go to Norway.

It seems I am En Route! I will continue doing the filling and healthy, or grenn highlighted if you'd rather call it that.
This morning I am away to sunny Shettleston, and I will ask the ladies there how they are doing. And of course give them my update. I am rather excited to be honest.

I will give myself time off during Christmas, but will try to take it easy and not eat cakes and chocolate all day long. It's early in the morning, and I guess I need to get ready for the day. Another busy day as usual.

I can not believe thatI have forgotten, or not bothered showing off my shawl....it took me a looooong time to knit, og course had I knitted only the one project it wouldn't have taken this long. Roughly 48 hours of knitting spaced out from 1 January 2010 - Septemer 2011. So here it is, finished and dyed with Kool Aid..purple grapes I think the colour was called.

Yes, sure I should really have pinned it out in the hall or livingroom, but our Solveig-cat looooves the playmats, and if I put them somewhere she could get to, it would be nothing left of them the next morning.
I used Patons 100% pure wool, 3ply and needles...probably 2.5 mm. Love the result if I must say so myself !

Monday

Monday morning, I am home alone...and got absolutely drenched on the way home from school, luckily I had a hat, scarf and selbumittens, so I was not really cold.

Talking about cold, I think I have cought one...I have starting coughing the same way my princess Kamma has been lately...so I guess it's better having a cold now BEFORE Christmas rather than during the celebrations.

The annoying thing is that husband Jon and I were supposed to start exercising tonight, guess I will do it anyway. I want to get on with it I think. I have mentioned it before..but the summer I want to be the P90 Queen. LOL!

Anyway, I do have a ton of housework to do today and it won't get done unless I actually start. So, here goes! Wish me luck people!

It's already Sunday evening, nearly Monday morning to be honest, and I am so happy that I can sit here and be on the net without any difficulties.

Tomorrow, it might be a busy day, must phone school in the morning, they might have their school concert instead of Thursday that was cancelled due to high winds here in Scotland (all schools were closed that day)...so here's hopeing that the concert is on and we get to see Princess and the school singing Christmas carols.

Anyway, it's late..I said i needed to get to bed early, and now it's nearly midnight..so I'd better go.

Leap Frog

So, I might as well show my latest project, I finsihed it last week, just in time for the snow.The Leap Frog is a really cute pair of wollies, but I didn't really follow the pattern, just the idea of a cable down the sides.

I have used Stylecraft Phases and 5.00 mm needle. They are actually a bit too long, typical me. But they have been used alot in just one week. So I guess it has really been worth knitting. Now to just remember to wash in not too hot water..previous woolies shrunk big style..and ended up fitting a baby..! Luckily Princess had outgrown them anyway...!

Now on to continue knitting, trying to finish a Christmas present before Christmas

So, since I have decided to get started with some pics I should have showed you AGES ago..but here comes...

My sparealong, or saving along. It's a load of ladies and we are saving a vertain amount per 50g og wool we knit. BUT, I have to do it differently....i don't have alot of money, so for every ball of wool I finish, weather it being a full 100g or a tiny little leftover ball of wool I still put away 1£ in my bottle,.

Yes, bottle..I need to have a moneybank that I can't just take the money out of, so a plastic bottle...it has to be cut open to get any money out...so that is why it suits me.

Yes my dear friends, I am back in here...2011 has been a very slow year here on my blog but I have decided that 2012 will be a different year. I will not just keep this to my crafts, but a bit about everything. You see, throughout this year 'I have used a couple of different blogs, one for weightloss and one for personal stuff.

But to make it all easier for myself, I will put it all in the one blog. Am going to try and separate a big when it comes to different kind of posts and hopefully I will be a bit more eager with pictures too.

I might even start a bit early blowing some life into this part of life.

So I joined another along...a savealong...so whenever I finish a ball of wool I will put some oney away in a piggy bank. I will show you my moneybanks when I get started, it's due to start tomorrow but no worried..still a while to go before I can put any pound coins in there..

I just I'd let you all know about the new cool project..I am already putting a pound away every week I lose weight, so why not with wool I use?

Well, so far....I went to Glasgow..and you'd think it was for shopping but no...justto do something different with my daughter. YES , I did buy something..but all can be explained...
1. keyrings, for the OslOve heart I have made, so it can come with me if I use the bag or the the rucksack
2. inkpad, or whatever it is called..so I can use my embossing powder on my letters and envelopes
3. Schoolshoes for my daugher, her previous ones were accidentally dropped in the sea while wading toghtether with Lisemors kids and husband. It was also nice to meet Lisemor for the first time! Hopefully nt thelast, and my Princess LOVED playing with their three kids.

Anyway, new shoes were needed!
I also had an icecoffe..but NO sweets and I saw some fabric..well...fleece..and I am going to sew a fleece dress for myself this autumn! *YAY*

And I have started..Project STOP is on it's way. Last time I kept it going for well over three weeks until Hallowe'en, but this time it will be a full year..atleast I will give it a shot!

I am going to Glasgow today, and will see if there's any material I could maybe use...want to sew something for myself that I can maybe use. Must of course also bring some fruit that The Princess and I can munch as we are there. It can be a long day, as hubby doesn't finish work until 5.30 ish!

I have been utterly inspired...yes, I have been inspired before...but I am once again !

What is the danger of trying out something new?

In my eyes it can only be a good thing. I have three projects ongoing...and I will start tomorrow...August 3rd.

Project 1. Lose the weight

Project 2. 12 months without sweeties

Project 3. Shop-stop

I can explain what these things mean...!

The first one basically means that I am going to lose the 30 kilos I am overweight. This is all.

The second part is what I have mentioned before, sometime last year...No bought sweeties..if I want anything I will have to make or bake.

The third one is also very important..I am not going to buy anything that I don't need. If I want something I am allowed to buy wool and material for making myself stuff...but no..buy-throw...will change it to simplicity!

I have more than enough stuff in my house, there is no need for more things. I am also of course allowed to get clothes and shoes for my daughter, and also shoes for myself, I walk alot and wear my shoes out in one year.

BUT, this is a great project..and I will live with fruit and tea. Will also do my best to live a healthy natural life, and cut down on coffee consumption.

I might even blog more often! Hurrah!

I have been on holiday to Norway, my home! It started out very rainy but still ok...then..I heard on the tv that there had been a big explosion in the Government buildings in Oslo...then a little later there were shootings at a place called Utøya...where around 700 kids were attending a political summer camp.

The disasterous thing happened, a man shot at the kids..and killed many...many to many...shouldn't have been one life lost, but it was. This day will forever be remembered as the worst happening in Norway after The Second World war..!

All I want to say is. Rest in Peace everyone, you will not be forgotten!

I have joined Tour de France knitting challenge, So I will tell you that I plan to finish the crocheted blanket and the baby jacket I have had lying here since I started it in July 2010..It needs to be finished!!

I don't really have anypictures to show you just now., butI have roughly 25 squares left to finish and fasten...then of course I need to have an edge maybe a scalloped one, I do tend to like them. Well,I do have a while to make up my mind.

I am excited to join in on something again..I know I have been writing alot of letters lately, and it feels as if I have ignored my knitting..BUt I haven't, I have been focusing on this granny square blanket. Nearly done now!!

My blog has been unattended for months..andI HAVE felt bad for my beloved blog....But I haven't stopped knitting or crocheting..I have continued and I have some old photos to show you.

Here is my jumper knitted with Wendy Narvik, I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that wool!!

I love it so much that I made a cardigan for my daughter, and it fits perfectly!

Have a look at those buttons,. I got them from my friend Nan, my LYS owner and for this cardigan they were just right, atleast that's what I think!

Also last but not least...I have knitted the Accidentally girly mitts

and I love them too, really warm and comfy ...so almost as if I can't wait for summer to be over...but than again..I wish it would start soon so I could enjoy some sunshine before Autumn DOES actually arrive!

I promise I will be updating more over the next weeks, I am trying to finish a blanket, a bedspread for my Goddaughter Bella...it MUST be finished by July and I am working hard every evening..I can't wait to start knitting again!!

More letters from me...this time it's for Mari in Finland and Jannicke in Norway. I can't believe it took me this long to write letters...! Next one to be written is for Camilla, also in Norway..by the way I ahve actually started writing it, what do you say for being eager!!

I have also been knitting, I started a jumper in Narvik wool on Monday, and I am nearly fiished with it. The front and back are done, and I have started with the sleeves. I am very inpressed with myself!

Hobbies

I guess I ought to tell you about my other hobby, ot used to be my passion, the thing I lived and breathed for...

I started penpalling in 1990, when I was 12 years old, although the last few years I have had an unvoluntary break, I still consider myself as a letterwriter.

At the "worst" stage i had over 50 penpals, but now it has narrowed down to alot less then that number.
I wanted to tell you about he big thing for me this year, it is that I am challenging myself to write 52 letters in 52 weeks, and I have already managed to write the first one!

I am very happy, and proud to tell that I have finished a letter to the lovely Lisa from Germany. My lette is going in the mail tomorrow!!

Already is December nearly finished, and I have been really busy knitting. No time for uploading pictures at all:)

But here are some pics of stuff I have made during the last 6 weeks this year.

A pale blue twirly swirl scarf, dunno what wool I have used, it was just something I had lying in my so called stash!

I have also knitted a second Oriental Lily dress, this time it's size 10 years and I have used King Cole Riot.

The dress is slightly big, but I am sure she'll grow into it.I am really happy with this dress and might wellmake another one next year.

My latest project finished is my Boucle jacket, I have used Wendy Origin for this jacket.

I finished the jacket today, so that I could have it finished in the same year I started it.

The buttons are some that I had lying around. All different colours but same style.

Oriental lily

I have made this dress, it's calle Oriental Lily, and I realyy enjoyed knitting it.

I have used Stylecraft life for this dress, with the coloured areas was King Cole Riot and needle 4.00 mm.

The sisze is 12 months, and I have started knitting one size 10 years too for my daughter aged 6. Hopefully it won't be way too big for her, if it is...we can always keep it until she's bigger. Rainbow coloured dress, perfect for little Princesses!

Blanket

Here' s a little blanket I have made, perfect to have on my feet while sitting in the sofa. I originally intented it to be a baby blanket, but I need something to keep me warm this winter.

I have used lots of different wool, but the greay squares are Stylecraft twirl and Kind Cole Rito.

I have used 4.0 mm hook for this blanket, and it's a normal granny suare, although I have crocheted the squares together using hobbyugla's method

That is a method I will use again ,definetly~ I love the result~ thank you so much for sharing Hobbyugla!!

Good morning from snowy Scotland!

These last few days has been really cold, white and snowy, today is the second day of school closure for us, so we are at home all day today.

Since we've had a bit more time then usual I have taken some pics and even uploaded them:)

It has been absolutely ages since i put anything on here, the days just fly by and I keep on knitting. It's difficult to get good pictures of my finished knits, but I will just put these pics up, so I have proof that I am not just sitting here doing nothing.

Last weekend we also went for a drive further up north, and I managed to take a couple of photos before the battery in my camera was completely flat.

The pictures are taken somewhere on the way to Aberfeldy, we didn't use our own car for this trip.and drove up a hill on and over the mountain to get there.

Husband didn't want to put too much petrol in the tank as it was to be delivered back to the agency in a day or two...yes you guessed it...Once again : Lack of petrol.

This is our third tim running out of fuel, well almost : engine starting to cought kind of days..

I even warned hubby saying..fill iupup the tank, there are no petrol staions in Scotland., Well, they do exist, but going up north, don't bet that there will be one in each town you get to, and none on they way either unless you are on the motorway.

RUNNING OUT OF FUEL STORIES:

First time: Along Loch Lomond, after having driven up to Fort William..on our way back we drove with nothing in the tank FOREVER. Managed to get to Alexandria, and found a JET station~(or smth like that)

Second time, going home from Blackpool, and we actually had to turn the engine off and just roll down hill for miles and miles..we found a petrol station at 8.57, it closed at 9..!! AND we hardly had any money to fill up the tank..Ahhh, now that was a nightmare! BUT ..we did drive through Sanquhar which reminded me of the Sanquhar pattern, trust me to find something knitting related;)

Third(and hopefully last) Last weekend going to Aberfeldy, I hope it never happens again!!!

This is what we really wanted to see on our trip, but of course with our luck..it was just closed for the day. Did see the the crannogs even if we didn't get a tour .

Hopefully no more excitement on our little outings with the car, please!!!

I have used New Lanark Aran and 5.0 mm needles, I am really happy with the result, and this is a jumper I would be happy making another time, but definetly a different colour. I am considering dyeing it ..green...pink or even orange..we'll se if I ever get that far;)

to knit this hat known as The Staffhat.

It's really easy to make

Here you can see the start of the knitted band

I chose Rowan Soft lux, as you can see it has a golden thread running through it

Result on sofa: I like it alot

Result on head: I love it, and it's really soft, so soft that even my daughter wants to wear it!!

I might make another few of these closer to Christmas;)

But for now, I will try to finish my jumper in the New Lanark wool that i bought some years ago at the SECC in Glasgow!

Surprise cowl

My friend Nan had her birthday in the end of August, and her sister arranged a surprise party for her. We went for a meal at a restaurant called John Carrigan's eating house..a very nice place to go. Anyway, as we all love Nan so much , she got lots of nice presents, and of them was a cowl, designed by the lovely Karen
Of course, when i got the pattern in my hand, I had to give it a go..and this is the result!

I have decided to use some of my stash, and I received a full binbag full of wool some weeks ago, so now I have made this sparkly vesty...

The piscture doesn't show the colour or the vest itself very good at all, but as it's more and more autumn every day, it'll be really good as a layer under my jacket.

It's brown and sparkly, well actually i think the colour says copper..and it does need to be stratched to be able to see the lace at the bottom. It's this pattern I have used.

I will have even more to show you later on...but for now..I really need to have my lunch;)

I was in Glasgow yesterday, meeting up with the Glasgow Picknitters, Jessica and Casey from Ravelry and Ysolda Teague.We were between 80 and 90 knitters I was told. I had a marvellous day!!

I am sure I did say pomething about posting pictures of our kitten, she was born on June 5th,so by now she is nine weeks old, and we have had her over a week already.

She is such a cutie, and she talks alot too...and her personality is getting bigger and bigger by the day, just as it should I guess.

I have been busy these last few weeks, trying to finish a couple of things that I have been working on for some time now. When will I learn to knit or crochet one thing at a time???

I am hoping that the last part of 2010 is when I will start on that partucular thing. Working on one thing at a time!

The first Christmas Present is finished...and here it is..I will not tell who it's for, but it's for a family member;)

I have used King Cole Mirage, and 4.0 mm circular needles.

Fairly happy with it, but I wish I had enough patience to do one more repetition. Nevermind..it's finished now, and would like to make on for myself as well...But for now.....Finish what I am doing!!

Did I evermentionthat King Cole has some new colours? I haven't had a proper look at them, but they looked NICE, so when school starts up again, I'll be down to my LYS to have a better look.

This summer has been absolutely fantastic, and also not so at all

Let me explain..the bad first:

.my best friend's mother died June 25th, after just over 6 weeks of learning she had cancer.

Then it was my cousins wedding, and it was great to see them finally getting married, I really really enjoyed it!

I had been knitting like mad just before we left for Norway, and YES I finished the shawl that I wore at the wedding.It took me 11 days to finish..no wonder my hands needed 14 days of rest.

The picture is really bad, taken with my mobile phone and a 7 weeks old kitten that was moving alot.

Anyway, we might well be able to pick her up om Monday, so expect some more pics next week, and also a name for this little lady.

I have been a busy bee, well not really a bee although I do have thousands of them in my garden...

Last month I finished something that I call the Helping Cardi, knitted with wool that a sweet lady gave me for helping out.

I have used oh...what is it called now.....? Oh yes

Wendy Pampas chunky, and I used needlesize 10mm...

With lots of differnt colours, as that is what my friend had. This cardi is almost too warm, so hoping to get some us of it this autumn. Unfortunately I don't have a closeup of the buttons, I say unfortunately because they MAKE this Cardi what it is.

Even if you might find it a bit strange and unusual, it's actually just perfect for me. It kind if mirrors me a bit if you understand;)

Now I'm going back to my knitting, oh sorry my mistake..I'm going to enjoy my morning coffee and THEN back to my knitting..!

Jumping sun

I am alive...Yes indeed, I have been busy knitting and writing letters. I have knitted a big cardigan for myself, but no picture yet. I am waiting for a good picture day.

My Botanica Medallion Cardigan is slowly coming along, it's unfortunately slightly boring to knit the everlasting long edge round the medallion bit.

So, I decided I needed a easy quick knit, So I went for the Jumping Sun dress. It was really simple to knit, but I had to change the decreasing a bit. My 6 years old Princess is tall and slim, so I decreased every 2 round about 6 or 7 times..until I felt it was enough.

The pattern is really easy to follow and I love it. It was a bit difficult to make sure all the triangles were the right way though/

And the little bows with a bead in the middle, these bows really "make" the dress a little extra.

Yes, there was a birthday...a princess that turned 6

There were cake as you can see, and also 11 partybags....

In these partybages I decided I wanted to make chicks...easterchicks, as it was the last day of the Easter Holiday...And so be it. I made chicks...12 chicks...And they were all gone and given away before I remembered to take a photo!!!

Luckily for me...One girl didn't come to the party, so I have one chick left at home...And this is it

Theother chicks had sewn on eyes, but this last got another kind..special eyes for the last chick. To remember how special birthday number six is.

Wip Wrestling

Oh, I have not forgotten....This month I am fighting WIP's..so the first thing on my list was the Spring forward socks...and yes...they are finished..! I started them in January, and they have been the thing I have been knitting when I was not at home...I was a Weight Watchers, Rosebuds and danceschool.

Very happy with the result, they are so comfortable, and I will probably make another pair of these socks. The wool was Elle sockwool

Needles .2.5 mm

Next project finishing are the easter chicks....they will be given away on Sunday April 18th.

I have only one more chick to knit, and then I need to get the beak and eyes on and some stuffing..then the pics will be on!

A few weeks ago I went across the city, on the other side of Glasgow to a place called Gourock...there thay have the loveliest woolshop...it's called Once a sheep, and I came home with these things......

The knit pro knitting needles are the best needles I have ever had. I love them, and I have of course started knitting a new pair of socks using my new Fyberspates wool.

I am using a pattern from Vis2Vas's sockbook called Angels Wear Socks...because they're worth it.the

I hope you are having a really nice weekend with your loved ones. Here we started our holiday yesterday when the husbond took the day off work. We decided to go and check out David Livingstone's birth house. It was really interesting learning a bit more about him.

Oh I do wish it was 22.5 degrees outside, but far from it these last few days. It has been snow and freezing cold wind and today the hail was upon us:(

So I had good use of my new scarf called 22.5 degrees and the designer is Martina Behm.

I have used King Cole Mirage, red and blue, and 4.00 mm knitting needles.

I love this scarf and will probably make more of these during 2010!

It's March already, could someone please tell me where the two first months went??

Ok, I know that I have been watching the olympics for 16 days or so, but still....!

This is what I have been working on lately, Bitterroot by Rosemary Hill. It was a bit fiddly with those tiny beads, as they were slightly too big for my wool.

I do like the result, mind you, it's still drying om my blocking board. I also used SOAK to wash my shawl in before blocking it.

I have used :

Wool: Araucania ranco multy

Needle: 2.5 mm

Mood: very happy

I have also been making another baby blanket, this one is going to Finland.

The pattern is crochet shell stitch blanket by lion brand

Hook: 7mm

Now that I am finished with these projects, I will continue on some other things I started in the beginning of January, and will be back with an update later this month!

Long time, no see

Oh my....

It HAS been a VERY long time since I have blogged. Life has given me some other priorities, or is it maybe just an excuse? Maybe I haven't had the desire to blog? Or maybe is it the feeling that my posts are never written well enough, never the way I want them to be.

The only way to fix my little problem , is just start up again. And I do have a few pictures to show you so...

We were in Norway for Christmas, and as we were on our way to Torp Airport,this is what it looked like.

Nice and snowy!

I was a bit worried about our flight, flight was ok, but the computers at the airport did not want to work, so we were waiting for an hour to get our luggage checked in.

We did arrive at Prestwick airport on expected time. It was really cold there, but no snow at all.

I can't even tell you when I made this neckwarmer, and I made up the pattern.

I don't remember anything about it...It has been such a long time since I made it. I might have put some info on ravelry...!

I am doing the samey granny, and putting all my buttons in it(all the 15 buttons i have).

I might not have many buttons, but now atleast they have a home!

I am so happy!

Also,I guess I should mention that i am busy knitting shawls and socks these days..and another baby blanket is on my hook...literally!

Last few days

Not many days left of this year now, I cannot believe that 2009 will be over soon. And not many days left of my advent calendar either. I 'll show you what i have received the last days.

A lovely red Christmas candle. Haven't started burning it yet..need to have a clear table for that;)

Next day viking foeyagarn, sockwool. I have actually tried this before and even the same colours, but I absolutely love this sockwool, and these are for ME!!

Have you ever seen anything this cute? This is such a cute colour and the wool...I wish you could feel it through the screen. I don't know what to do with it yet though...Very exciting.

Today I got a large ( and HEAVY) red candle, same as the first picture on the top, but just BIGGER.

I don't have a picture of this candle, but believe me, It's very nice to have!!

Only a few days left, and unfortunately I will only be able to show tomorrow's calendar, as I'll be leaving early on 23rd, and won't be near my own laptop until 1st of January...and whatever's in the calendar might well be gone by then..! we'll see:)

BUT, I wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

A couple of Christmas pressies are finished

First, a hat for my cousin, he's ehhh.... 25 almost 26 I think...!

I hae used double King Cole Mirage and 4mm circular needle.

Second, a peir of fingerless gloves for my lovely sister-in-law!

She works at a nursery, and it's handy to have your fingertips peeking out. Hope she likes the colour:)

I have used Wendy Happy Sockyarn, It's so soft!

and needles 2.50mm

And that means, they took ages to do! But nice result!

Third, a scarf for the Princess' friend Sopihe. This is the 22.5 degrees scarf that I found on Ravelry, and i really love the result, so I am cuttently making on efor the Princess herself.

I am using Gold dk 100% courtelle, and that results in a scarf without itch...and pretty much perfect for any little one with those tendencies. I myself used to hate wool because of this..but now..I have definetly changed!

Oh , I also used 4mm needles for this.

The scalloped edge, which really makes the whole scarf!

And sideways, why not?

Now over to the exciting thing happening next year...I think i'll be making crocheted squares and knitting shawls most of the year.

First....I am making lots of squares to swap with people in Norway..a bit scary, as I am not keen on Royal Mail these days. What if nothing gets to ti's destination?

Next...I have joind a group on Ravelry, and I am supposed to knit 10 shawls in 2010...I really want to do that, as I really just love shawls. You wouldn't think so, as I haven't made tha many of them...but I love them!

Can't wait to get started. I guess I am already planning what to do..and I'll be starting with MMario's MMystery that starts on Jan 1st. I hope to keep up with them all.

Do you have any great idea of shawls I can knit? Or maybe I should ask, I have probablt 30 shawls that I would like to do, if not more..! LOL

Just another week

Just another week until we'll be in Norway! I can't wait to get going...but first I have loads of lovely pressies to open...Is is time to show off the calendar gifts again

On Tuesday I got two bars of soap and a facecloth from Ikea:)

I love the soaps, and they are already in use! The facecloth...is in the wash as we speak!

And yesteday I got all these patterns and a Norwegian Chocolate....I will save the chocolate for the weekend, and then share with Husbonden(hubby) and The Princess.

The patterns are really exciting, and I will probably use the supersimple shawl in January as I tolk a friends I'd make a shawl to warm her up in her house in Eastern Norway.(It will also as a part of this shawlknitting thing..will talk more about that in another post)

I have forgotten to take a photo of today's lovely wool, but it was another skein on Viking Eco-Alpaca, the colour is white, and feels as devine as the grey I got earlier!!

I found this in my advent calendar...and it's the prettiest shade of purple I think I have ever seen, and it's so soft...I am truly amazed ! I think I am the luckiest person in this country, it certainly feels like it.

Now, before I forget...I haven't showed any photos of the icecoffee sachets that was in the calemdar...twice it has happened, only because they were gone somewhere, before I could take a photo...(weird huh)

Shawl and calendar

Here's MY Flower Basket Shawl

I have finally finished it, started it in August LAST year. I don't know why it took me so long to finish it, because when I started it only took me four days to complete it.

If I had more wool I would have maid it bigger, as it's just a little too small to wear as a shael on my back, it's more around my neck to keep me warm . I only did ten repeats(or was it nine?). I might knit another fbs, as it's really simple. I will wear this shawl for Christmas(just to show off to my family , they never see me, and I think they still kind of think that I can't really knit!)

Anyway, over to my Advent calendar, I have two days worth to show off.

Yesterday I got another ball of the green Viking Eddagarn, I really do love this wool!! And this morning I opened the pressie and I found some wooden knitting needles size 3.50. I guess that means I CAN knit another pair of socks...or even better..two at a time!

It's day 11, I woke up went quickly into the playroom and opened my adventcalendar, and what did I find?

A calorimetry!!

And it was perfect, you see: looking out the window it's was frosty everywhere and I knew it would be cold, and when we were getting ready for school we were rushing as usual and...a problem: I just couldn't find my hat.

Of course my Princess had taken this calorimetry as it was hers and hid it in her room, but she was quick in finiding it when she realized that mamma would get very cold ears.

SO, it has been tried, and it's nice and warm, how could it be that it came in my calendar this particular cold day...it was minus 2 this morning and freezing(yes, everyone in Norway will probably laugh at this, but it's pretty cold for this area!!

I have been very lazy these last few days,...not uploading pictures of my advent calendar stuff. Well here goes.......I got Norwegian Melkesjokolade yum yum...There was another snowman, but it has mysteriously dissapeared;)

The next day I got this lovely Viking Alpaca wool...It is so soft and cuddly, I am in LOVE!!!

Viking is a definite favourite of mine ...!!!

Do you think Nan at my woolshop would like to see??

And not enough wool yet it seems....I got another ball of viking Eddagarn, same pink as before....Lovely, and it's just as soft and cuddly as everything else I have touched from Viking!

And this morning I opened another Nisse chocolate and another smaller one..but it was gone before i could take the photo!, and to show you the size of it, there's also a pen in the pic, as you can see:)

I can't believe it's Sunday already, and it seems I have have three Calendar pressies to show off today.

On Friday ~I got this lovely wool from Viking, it's called Eddagarn, it's pink and feels so lovely and soft, I have only used Froeyagarn before, so this will be very exciting! Must show this wool to Nan at my lys:)

Now, this was very welcome in my house....and these marzipan chcolates dissapeared shortly after this picture was taken. AND the tasted devine!

This morning I opened up the pressie, and inside was another ball of Eddagarn, and today it's a lovely shade of green. Now the question is...what to make ? I already have a sunning plan..but need to finish another couple of hats first...!

You know these Christmas presents that oughta be finished by the 24th..!

Tomorrow is another day, and I can't wait to open the next pressie...kind of looks like chocolate..well see if i'm right.

This is a pincushion, it's so cute. I loved it the first time I saw the ones Vibbedille had made..the plan has been to make one ...but I have never gotten around to do it..too busy with other projects;)

NOW I don't have to make one, because I already have one, yippie!! I love it!

And a little chocolate snowman too, he will be saved for Thursday evening , after Weight Watchers;)

Today i found two sachets of nescafe Vanilla, I have never tried the vanilla before, so when I came home after taking the princess to school, and delivering books at the libarary(have had the books only 2 months..!)..I took the bus home, you know..to avoid the cold wind and rain...it was really nice to come home and have a cup of vanilla coffee, I really enjoyed that thank you Vibbedille/Gro Vibeke!!

Can't wait for tomorrow!!!

Advent

It's 1st of December and that means Advent Calendars,3 for my daughter AND I am thrilled that I have my own just like last year, and that the one I sent 16 days ago arrived at its destination today!

This is my daughters calendar, my mum made it for her some years ago, I guess this is the third time in use.I really like it, and I wish I had one like that from when I was little, but my brother and I used to share a chocolate calendar-getting one little choclate every other day.

Now THIS is MY advent calendar, sent to me by Vibbedille(Thank you!!) I love the idea with the clotheshanger and I will take that idea with me for next year!

Inside number 1 was a calendar candle, which is great, because...I really wanted one, but I haven't seen them around here. In Norway you can get the fairly easily(atleast you used to)so I am really glad to be able to celebrate with style this year!

Did I ever mention that I love candles? Because I do..!

This evening....my daughter and I were busy ...we assembeled and decorated our gingerbreadhouse...It really looks pretty cool...but according to these pictures..it looks like a great mess;)

It was fun to do, and she really enjoyed it, just like me!

Ok then.....I was going to leave this picture out..cause THIS is the mess, but I guess you deserve to see this bit of it as well!

I haven't been knitting many socks lately, but my little Princess actually asked for a pair of socks( i guess she had seen my socks in use). So i started, I guess it was a bit silly starting right before Christmas, because some other presents has had to wait to get knitted.

She loves them so much she never wants to take them off, or atleast this is what she says:)

Does this mean she wants more socks? Do I have to knit socks for my daughter instead of myself? Hmmm , I am not sure if i like this trend...! I guess I COULD make more socks for both of us...AFTER Christmas!

I think it's 1st of December tomorrow, and I am not ready. I have some Chrismas decorations up by now, but I 'd like to get more doen. I guess it's silly of me sitting here with my laptop..but I also needed to update a little bit. I have been really slow lately with my updates, and I really need to get better.

I do have an announcement: I have been knitting non stop since August 2007!

I have even knitted during the summer, the only times I haven't knitted that much is when I have been home on holiday in Norway (too many people to see, so not alot of time).

It doesn't seem that I am likely to stop any time soon...and looking at my queue on Ravelry, I can't stop until I am 70 ;)

Christmas is coming

Yes, indeed. We are really getting closer to a new Christmas, and I was rather shocked to learn that the first Sunday in Advent is just a few days away.

Luckily I am kind of on track with all the present I wanted to knit, and last week I finished another one, this autumn's first scarf

I really love this colour and I guess I should add some details about it.

I have already started another few presents, and they will be going to Norway and I will have to post them as soon as possible, just in case we're not going this year either.

I have started putting up Christmas decorations, and will finish it this weekend, and a few days ago I received my advent calendar from Vibbedille , this is a swap at Hobbyboden and I really can't wait to start. I mailed her calendar almost two weeks ago, and it seems it NOT there yet. I really hope it will arrive today or Monday. I will feel absolutely terrible if its late. I do blame Royal Mail!! Imagine two weeks across the water? and Vibbedille's package took only 6 days??

Oh, this will be the same as last year, I will put a picture of the calendar package here on my blog, and I will do my best to do so every day, but I cannot guarrantee it...!

Jumper for school

I promised my daughter a jumper for school , and she wanted one with buttons on, so I decided to make one. I meant to have a ribbon through the eyelets above the flower, but it was too difficult for a 5 year old to put the jumper on after gym/PE.

I have had this scarf finished for a week or so, it is a Christmas present for my Grandmother. She "made an order" when she saw the brown scarf that I made last year.

I love the way it turned out, eapecially with the colourful wool I have used. Now, the problem is that I can't remember the name of the wool..but I think it could have been Laines du Nord, Kiddy print...! Anyone that wants to help me naming the wool? I haven't even filled the details in Ravelry, but WHEN I do remember the names, I will get the details on my Ravelry project page.

We are well into October, and I have been busy but I haven't had the urge to blog anything at all. I have finished a couple of things such as this hat.

Mood: goodI also finished another Chriastmas present. Just a simple neckerchief, starting out with 3stitches, and increasing every 2nd. row. Casting off in rib to make the cast off edge stretchier. Hopefully this will warn up my mother's neck this winter:)

Springtime Swirl

After really focusing on finishing this shawl, I am finally done. The knitted bind off edge took me 13 days to finish, and I absolutely love this shawl.

Here she is: lovely and adorable I just love the design, and the fact that I have had this as a tv knit. I think the pattern is really easy to memorise, or I have become so familiar with lace that it's no problem. (i'll go for the first answer).

I really like the look, and the colour is really me too

I pinned the shawl during the day and while I was away to my dancersise class last night my daughter (5) had removed all the pins that i used to block the shawl, and she said "it was dry mamma"...BUT it was not, so not as blocked as I would like..but not too bad either.

It was a bit windy today:) and the sun shone for the shawl(10 minutes later..it was raining.

Vikings at Largs

On Saturday 5th of September we went to Largs to have a look at the viking village there. It's some sort of yearly festival to remember a viking battle in the 1200's. They also do a reenactment of the battle, but it was a bit too late in the evening for us.This is the entrance to Largs viking village, it was a very wet and windy day

This viking has mittens on, they are not knitted nor crocheted, but done the old viking way with naalebinding

I am not sure what this viking was doing, but he was very intense and focused..and I do see runes...so it's definetly something to do with runes.

There was also a tent with wool and drop spindles, and the lady dyed the wool with natural colouring...of have lost her card, and I have no picutes..was too busy looking..!

I loved it, and will go next year as well!

Hi again, it has once again been a while since I have been here, and it's not because I am not knitting..because I am definetly knitting. I thought i'd just show you what I am busy knitting..so here goes This is the springtime swirl

I don't really have alot left of this shawl, just 20 rounds with 640 stitches in each round, then I will be able to start the bind off...but that's a big job in itself.

Still, I think i might be finished with this shawl in maybe three weeks. After that it will be time to continue making Christmas presents and focus a bit on that. don't want to be in a rush in December!!!

Drops jumper

Good afternoon people!

Since last time i was here, I haven't really spun much but I have been knitting.

In the summer I knitted a bolero, but I was NOT happy with the result, so I decided to make a winter jumper instead.

It was a really easy knit, and I enjoyed most of it:) The pattern is Garnstudio drops

The wool is New Lanark Double knitting, the main colour is called clematis, and the other colours were just some various colours that i had in my stash. Every time is go to New Lanark i buy a ball of wool or two:)

I was very surprised that the colours goes so well together and now I can't wait for the cold scottish weather to get here, so I can use it.. :o)
