new wool

I just wanted to make a separate post with the wool i brought home from the fair:)


New Lanark 100% wool , aran. As you can see i have already started knitting, this time a jacket from Drops Garnstudio.


I also bought 4 balls of Sublime Kid Mohair bland in a lovely colour!,and yes i have a plan for this as well!

AND, i discovered something new...tatting...i totally love it, and it's so easy. actually i remember doing something similar when i went to school, inbetween the classes all the girls used to make friendship bracelets using this very same technique...except for the flipping of the knot!

And because i sat down and had a go at tatting at the fair, i got to bring home something tatted. the blue one i have made myself:)

craft fair

this weekend i went to the craft fair at the SECC in Glasgow. i was lucky and got cheap tickets from the nursery teacher:) yaay.
it was a really good day, and i bought some wool..i don't have photos of the wool just yet but i "stole" or borrowed these pics from Nan from the lunch we had at the fair..Stitching time Blethers and some Glasgow knit n stitch ladies...oh and daughters too:)

drops mittens

These are my February mittens from the kal at Hobbyboden. Drops mittens, and they are crocheted using artesano alpaca i think and hook size 3.

I love the result and will definetly make the gloves another time..maybe nearer the winter again. right now i'll be busy with knitting the March mittens...some owl mittens i believe. will be back with them soonish! have a great week eveyone. thankyou for coming by, and let me know you were here!

raspberry baby blanket

Good afternoon everyone, i hope you are all great! i myself have not been that well the last few days, but i am definetly on the mend.

here is the finished Raspberry chevron baby blanket, i have made it for my friend Tiina, she gave birth to a baby boy recently-congratulations!! i started using some white chunky wool, then bought the brown..and when i found out that it was a boy i got the blue. the wool is just amix and match of what i had and had to boy. i am not sure about the colours though...but the more i see it i do like it.

this is just a close up of the two last colours .nothing much happening here really..just knitting along on this other raspberry chevron afghan..won't be finished for another few months though!

stripey

Good afternoon everyone, i have finally gotten around to take photos of the stripey hat i have made,. i really love the hat...unfortunately..it doesn't fit me!!! it fits my 5 years old much better...and i don't think i'll ever get around to actually make one for myself. i felt it took a long time to finish this hat, besides i have millions of other projects on the go.

Such as this Raspberry Chevron Afghan for my brother's wedding in late may, and i started on Valentine's day, and I will make sure they know that;) the wool I am using is..oh dear..i cannot remember...better ask Nan...she'll know..the colour is Kemp, that i know:) Could it be Special 20% wool? need to find out, i do have two other 400G balls of wool waiting for me at the shop..., so i better get knitting:)


and i have also started on these Swirly girl socks, this is very much a "for fun" kind of project and so far i really like it. i have wanted to knit some socks for some time now, and finally i got around to do it. yay! let's see...i am using Drops Fabel, and also the red in the socks are Viking Froeya.

Good evening to you all, i just wanted to show you my february scarf, it's the pudorosa! it's just so cute, and i love it. it's so...i dunno, it's just so me. and the white buttons really "does" or "makes" the whole neckwarmer.

it looks a bit wonky i suppose,but it isn't-really:) it was also really fast to knit, and i finished it before i finished the january scarf in the previous post. i just wanted them in the correct order.

OH, i promise you that when the weather gets warmer and drier....i will take my pics outside..so maybe you can actually see the knitting, i know bad photos is a real downer..but i will be better!!

january scarf

here is my january scarf, finally...it took me a long time to knit this one. this pattern is made my torilh, but she has been inspired by the fan neckwarmer.

this will be a christmas present for my sister-in law. i hope she'll like it:)

the wool i have used is unknown, and i had to wind it off a cone and separate two strands of wool, and this is why it took such a long time to knit. i do quite like it, but this one is for Nina!

cherry mittens

here are my Cherry mittens almost done. the knitting is finished,and they have even been worn , but after thinking about it for a few days, i felted them just a tiny bit, and now they fit just perfect. so the picture is before felting;)

i must admit, they have been finished almost two weeks now, and these are my first attempt on knitting mittens"properly" with a pattern and all, and i am very happy with the result. The wool is Wensleydale Longwool, and it was given to me sometime last year by Julia that didn't want it anymore. i think i made good use of it don't you? So thank you Julia:)

wham bam

Hello there, it's been a while! how have you al been? i have missed my blogupdates, especially because i finished this wham bam thank you lamb a while ago. i just never got around to upload the photos from my camera(correction, my hubby's camera that is)

i didn't realise that the first picture was so blurred, but the colour is correct, so i can't get myself to remove it. I have been pretty busy getting a cold you see, but now i am feeling alot better. i have some other photos to show you in a few days ...i really need to find the febryuary neckwarmer as well..it's finished, but i have put it somewhere safe..and i can't remember where..! of maybe it's the "husnisse" that took it???

it's snow once again her, so i am going to enjoy one hour of tv watching and coffee drinking..before i need to go out again!

neckwarmer

i have been a bit late with a birthdaypresent, this is a scarf/neckwarmer for Fiona, she was 20 earlier this month. the scarf is made from King Cole Mirage and as you can see the shade is green:)

it's really simple to make, i cast on 210 sts, and knitted some weid pattern, you can knit any pattern you like..lace, cables or whatever you want..or nothing. when it's wide enough cast off..make sure the cast off is not too tight, so i cast off in rib.

measured, and put on a button, made a small icord(?) sewed it on, and voila!!i will give it to her today:) and i hope she likes it:)

first project

good morning everyone, i hope you have had a great new year so far:)
i have been very busy, this is the january hat in the knitalong at hobbyboden, the pattern is the boy hat and can be found here.

I have been invited to a party at Muffin's blog and here i am!!

I have also brought my mug from Prague that my lovely auntie bought me in 2005, i am a bit of a mug/cup collector but most of them are still in Norway, even after having lived here for 4 years.
I am trying to finish this crocheted babyblanket, just 4 more squares before it's on it's way to Pia's baby in Denmark. It's a girl she's expecting by the way or could you tell;)

and last night i started knitting the boy hat which is this month's pattern of knit a hat a month at Hobbyboden. i think it will make a nice christmaspresent in a years time;)

my little pony

welcome everyone... the famous jumper had to be worn before it was complete, and i just had to take a photo og my princess wearing it!

everybody, here she is Rainbow Dash! i finished the jumper yesterday and i am really happy with how it turned out. i found a picture online, and tried one of these pattern generators or whatever they are called. now in theory it would work fine, but it didn't, so i just had to look at the picture a make sure everything was looking right. and i think it does.

of course i ought to have a picture of the princess holding the realy pony as wel, but i forgot to bring it along when we went to the park yesterday. yes, it was cold and dull..we went a bit late i suppose. and i can't say she looks very happy either, but i assure you:SHE loves it:)

kalendar mystery

good morning to you all! i hope you are all having a splendid day:) i myself, i feel great, last night i exercised for an hour, then later on i finally got around to finish the advent calendar mystery. i just needed to attach the hoops, and fasten all ends. i actually like the resut alot...i had planned to give it away, but i think i want to keep it..! january will be a busy month for me, i have mittens, hats and scarves to knit:) and yes.....i will be starting knitting pressies for mext xmas..!

wool

here's just a picture of my kitchen table just before christmas dinner. it was a good day even if we didn't go to Norway this year.

Yesterday we went to New Lanark, and went for a walk to the falls of Linn, it was just lovely there, and i was so lucky that i got some wool(hubby's xmas pressie for me i think)new lanark wool, and i will make some sort of cardigan using this. haven't made up my mind just yet.

but first i want to finish the my little pony jumper for my princess. not long now, so watch this space..i am really happy with it! you just have to wait until the pony is blue...:)

yes yes yes, i know it's beena while since i updated, and i'm supposed to put pictures of all my advent calendar gifts, but i know i have missed a few photos, but this lovely tablecloth is the last adventcalendar gift i received, and i just love it.

i have enjoyed every morning in december because of this, and i do hope to have something similar in december 2009:)thank you for a great december Henrikke!!

my little pony

it's nearly little christmas eve as we call it in norwegian, the 4year old princess has the little mermaid on tv, and i thought i ought to update just a little bit before christmastime.

this my little pony jumper has been "ordered " by her, and i can't wait to have it all finished. i was hoping to have it done by christmas eve, but i doubt it now. it'll be all ready by the new year. i don't want to rush it, the wool is nice and soft, and i have alot of the so called swiss darning to do. i am certain that the end result will be great! now off to chart the pony:)

this morning when i opened my calendar , i found these cute little "nisser" they are so cute and has fount their place next to my "kystnisser" that my mum has given me earlier years. aren't they cute???

and this new wool, i have never seen it before, and a pattern to go with the wool. the pattern is a vibbedille pattern! i will make this hat after xmas:)
