homespun wool

I told you that I have started spinning my own wool on my new drop spindle. The first attempt was rather now succesful... It had lots of twist on it and was very uneven. This is my second attempt I think, or maybe it was third. I am quite happy with it anyway

A closer look at it..a bit furry here and there bt I am still learning
Ane here's the finished skein. I look forward to knitting a blanket..a completely homemade blankie:)

I will show you my dyeing next post, maybe when the princess is in bed tonight

Baby Blanket

Hello Everyone,
it has been a while since I wrote my last post. Since then I have been busy knitting along on some projects. This is one of them, my friend Anne in Trondheim gave birth to baby Hanna some time in July, and in a few days this blanket will be on it's way to them. I am actually really happy with the result, even if I did run out of wool and needed to knit the corner in a different colour.
I had planned all along to use another colour in the eyelets all around the edges of the blanket.

And all in all I am pretty happy:)
What else am I doing these days? I have recently bought a drop spindle, and I am busy learning how to spin my own wool. And of course I am knitting away on the jumper and the Springtime swirl Shawl. I guess I ought to show progress pictures, I might get around to it in the end of thee weekend...I guess you just have to pop by every so often;)
Now that it's just 3 weeks left until the schools start, I guess we are getting closer to Autumn..ann more knitting. I will be better at updating when July is finished.
So from me to all of you out there..Have a lovely weekend and I hope to see you soon!

Not gone

Hi everyone,
I am not gone, I am here slowly knitting in the summer heat. And because all my stuff are only halfway I have nothing to show off just now.

This heat is also playing havoc withmy migraine, and knitting is rather slow..But I have not put my knitting away for the summer.

It's just too hot to knit hats and scarves, so I am slowly plodding along with ny Springtime swirl and a winter jumper that is onlyu knit knit knit and not patterned(yet), I might have to start on something easier when i get to the fair isle pattern (if the heat continues).

I haven't even been doing my granny squares lately! shame on me!!
